Care & Share USA

Care & Share is an international NGO based in the city of Vijayawada, in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.Our person-to-person sponsorship program benefits over 6,500 children living in the city's slums and nearby villages. Care & Share also runs a host of other programs serving street children, slum dwellers, sex workers, and those displaced in the wake of natural disasters.

Care & Share USA is a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the US tax code. Any donation is tax deductible within the limits specified by the law.

What We Do

Care & Share USA's sponsorship program serves poor and deserving children living in slums and rural areas around Vijayawada. Most of the children live with their families, but many others reside in private boarding homes and hostels. At present, we care for more than 6,500 children through the sponsorship program and assist about 1000 more unsponsored kids. We help children of all creeds - Christians, Muslims, and Hindus.

The hallmark of our program is that we encourage sponsors to keep a close relationship with their children:

• Sponsors can expect to receive letters and photographs from their kids at least 3 times per year
• Sponsors may write and send packages on a regular basis
• Sponsors may donate for children projects, such as: shopping trips, bikes, bank savings, sewing machines for their mothers or at the end of their studies
  
• Many sponsors, each year, come to India to personally meet their children
